Hi WriteByNighters,
There's no doubt that environment can play a large role in our creativity.
Some of us like to write in isolation, with no other human breathing the air we're breathing. Others prefer to be in the middle of a swarm of activity.
I have a friend who likes to write on busy subways! I also know that a lot of you are sickened by the sentence you just read.
I prefer confined spaces. If I could fit into a closet, I'd write there. Three walls and a door? Yes, please.
But we can't always have our ideal. My writing space is in the middle of a big room, in one corner of a big wooden table. I sometimes feel exposed. But I make it work.
We spend so much time writing in our writing spaces, let's take some time to write about them.
You can write about your ideal writing space or about your writing space as it is. You can describe what it looks like and smells like and sounds like, or you can describe how you feel in your space.
What has been your biggest accomplishment in your writing space? Your biggest disappointment?
And now that we can post pictures in our blog comments... can we see a photo of your writing space?!?!
