Happy weekend, writers!
I haven't written in two weeks.
Nope, not a word. The characters in my novel and stories are frozen in place, some of them in mid sentence, some of them in mid action, some of them just sitting around wishing they had a more creative creator.
I'm cool with that. I know I'll pick it back up.
But a comment from Charles in our previous discussion got me thinking about all the places I've written, which is what I want us to talk about in this week's post, "Prompt: All the Places You've Written."
For me, here's what comes to mind first: A courtyard in Spain, the mid-afternoon sun shining in, a cold Estrella at hand.
My favorite bench in Riverside Park, looking out over the basketball courts at the end of West 76th.
A motel room in Rockford, Illinois, with a blizzard blowing so hard my window rattled, my leftover Steak 'n Shake fries growing cold and hard, me trudging slowly through a book I'll never finish but loved working on.
I've been fortunate to write all over the world, in places exotic and mundane.
And soon enough, I'll write again here at home.
How about you? What are some of the most exotic or memorable settings in which you've written? Or even a mundane place, but where you had a major breakthrough or simply made remarkable progress?
