Hello, writers,
First, I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving, with lots of friends and family and turkey or tofurkey, and maybe even some reading and writing.
I've got a lot of fun and exciting WriteByNight news to report!
First, we've revamped our one-on-one services, particularly our critiques, where we now offer three levels of intensity.
AND our one-on-one services are no longer exclusively one-on-one: We've added a writing workshop! Two or more WBN coaches will read your work and meet with you to discuss in a group setting.
Imagine, you and your writing at the center of attention in a 60-to-120-minute conversation! It's the perfect way to get diverse feedback on your first chapter, first 50 pages, or anything else you want fresh eyes on.
Meanwhile -- and now I'm finally getting to this week's post -- we've hired two talented new coaches!
Darcie Abbene writes for Kirkus Reviews and others, teaches at Northern Vermont University, and is managing ed. at Green Mountains Review.
Tariq Shah is the author of Whiteout Conditions and teaches at St. Joseph's College.
I asked Tariq and Darcie to offer words of wisdom for aspiring writers. Tariq says, "Write what hurts most" and "Ask yourself what the story is doing in the reader's heart"; Darcie says, "Keep going."
If you're interested in working with Darcie or Tariq and/or are curious to know more about our new critiques and workshops, reply to this email and we'll set up a time to chat.
