Hello, writers,
Before I get to this week's blog post, I also want to say hello to Alex Myers and Arielle K. Jones, two of WriteByNight's talented new writing coaches.
Alex has published four books, including the novel Revolutionary (Simon & Schuster, 2014), which I recently read and enjoyed. He's also a journalist, having appeared in publications such as Newsweek and the Guardian. Learn more about Alex here.
Arielle is a graduate of Fresno State's MFA program and has published short fiction with The Rumpus, Orange Review, and others. See a bio and Q&A here.
If you're interested in working with Alex or Arielle, simply reply to this message and we'll talk!
I want to hear about a particularly memorable writing session. Or that time you overcame a long-running obstacle or achieved a seemingly impossible goal.
Or even that time you wrote peacefully in a hammock on the first nice day of the year, or on a beach in the sun or on top of a mountain nearer to the sun: A time when environment and creativity came together to form a memorable moment.
Like my best 2021 writing experience did, when I scrambled to spit out a 1,000-word story in time to hit a totally optional deadline while accompanied by a vigilant German shepherd and a less vigilant intravenous drug user.
