Hello, WriteByNighters,
If in the past couple of months you've signed up to receive our "weekly" emails, you might wonder if we know the definition of weekly.
I've had immense trouble writing. I've canceled three straight sessions with my writing coach. I click "add new post" in the back end of our website and then stare at the white space. Pick up pencil, open notebook. Look away at nothing. Close notebook, put down pencil.
In free consults I talk to ten or so writers per week. Typically about half of them are struggling to write. These days it's more like eight or nine. And a lot of those writers point to the angst, frustration, and fear that comes from following current events.
This week's post is titled "Op-Ed: Everything Sucks." In it, I share some thoughts about those current events; talk more about how it's keeping some of us from writing; and offer free editorial help to any of you writing a piece for publication about your loss of
bodily autonomy.
We're also cooking up something to facilitate donations to abortion rights groups.
I'm closing comments for this post. Our blog has always been a place for free and open and fun discussion of writing topics, and I'd like to keep it that way.
Next time out we'll do something fun, a prompt or a micro fiction contest or an actual topic. I'm taking requests.
