Dear writer,
I know I owe y'all the results of our query letter contest and an update on what we've been up to and what's on the horizon. And I'll get there. (I swear!) But I got waylaid by something a few weeks after I last checked in with you, and I kinda want to talk
about it.
A client of mine died a few weeks ago and his story went forever with him.
I was writing it for him. And I think it gives us a good opportunity to talk about waiting,
procrastination.
That's what we're doing in this week's blog post: "Will Get Back Soon."
I don't want to dump 800+ words in this space, so here's the tl;dr version:
Early in the twenty-first century, this writer was an active participant in a scandal that made national news. Ever after, he longed to tell his side of the
story.
But he dragged his feet. For years, and years, and years.
Finally, in January 2025, we signed an agreement for me to ghostwrite his memoir, and in that moment, his entire demeanor changed and his
eagerness and excitement level blossomed. (So did mine.)
What he didn't know was that beneath the surface, trouble was brewing from within.
The takeaway? Don't wait. Tell your story today.
Now. While you can.
