The best Indie books of 2015
Published: Wed, 12/17/14
At slashlit today, WriteByNight co-founder David Duhr and WBN friend Drew Smith offer a preview of some 2015
books from indie presses. Using catalogs and publicist info, slashlit offers a calendar of upcoming titles from dozens of small presses, sortable by author, publisher, release date and more. It’s a great resource for readers looking for hot new titles, and for reviewers looking to stay ahead of the curve. David’s list offers some short story collections such as Ana Kordzaia-Samadashvili’s Me, Margarita, novels including LaShonda Barnett’s Jam on the Vine and Sybille Bedford’s A Legacy, and nonfiction titles such as David Graeber’s Utopia of Rules. Drew selects an even mix of forms as well, and in total they mention twenty new books with release dates from
January through March. So if you’re looking ahead for the best reading of 2015, take a look. As Stephen King tells us, "If you don't have time to read, you don't have time to write."
