Are You Bursting With Duende?

Published: Sat, 02/18/17

Happy weekend, WriteByNighters,

Most of you are busy writing today. Wanna know how I know that? We are suddenly inundated with your wonderful words, and we know of millions more coming our way.

And no, that's not an exaggeration. By the time this month is over, I alone will have coached, critiqued, edited, proofed, placed, and consulted on nearly 750,000 words of WriteByNighter work.

And they're great words, too. You guys are killing it lately.

Clearly you are all bursting with literary duende right about now.

But do you have enough literary duende that you can win our new Micro Fiction Contest? Prove it by writing an enchanting story of 25 words or fewer that includes the word "duende."

The writer whose story we select as the winner gets the grand prize, a copy of Amanda Eyre Ward's new novel, The Nearness of You, which publishes on Tuesday and which I will have subsequently read by the time this contest ends next weekend.

Head on over to the blog post for more instructions and to enter.

That's it for this week, friends. A short message, I know. You all are keeping us busy! It's a great problem to have. So keep it up.

Yours in duenditude,
David

P.S. If you know someone who might benefit from today's message, please feel free to forward this email along. Go on, help a writer out.

P.P.S. Here's what else we've been talking about lately: our writing fears; our comfort zones; creative flow; and the progress you've made on your 2017 writing goals. Happy reading!
