Book Reviews & You

Published: Sat, 01/20/18

Happy weekend, book lovers!

Lately I've been thinking a lot about book reviews, which I used to write professionally and read voraciously but quit doing either of about two years ago.

I've got a friend who is getting back into reviewing after a two-year hiatus, and my first question to him was, "Uh, why?"

He and I have talked a lot over the years about the purpose of reviewing (is there one?) and whether or not anyone even reads them.

So I thought I'd ask! Because you all have proven a valuable source of wisdom for us, and we always appreciate hearing your experiences and insights.

That's what's happening on our blog in this week's post, "Do Book Reviews Influence You?", where I ask you to answer a handful of questions, such as:

  • Do you read reviews?

  • What makes a review good or bad, helpful or unhelpful?

  • Do you ever buy (or avoid) a book based on a review?

And more! I look forward to hearing from you.

Leave your answers in the comments section of the post, or drop me a line in private if you're feeling shy.

Cheers,
David
