Happy weekend, writers!
Or is it? Maybe where you are, today and tomorrow
will be nothing but snow and wind and gray skies. If so, that seems like a good excuse to curl up with a good book.
But does it seem like a good excuse to curl up and do some
writing?
Lately I've really struggled to write. Since before the holidays, I've had no more than a couple of good writing sessions. The rest have been, at their best, plodding, and at their worst, total
failures.
A few days ago, staring at a blank Word doc, the wind howling outside my window, I started wondering: Could my funk be weather-related?
Do some writers go into winter hibernation? Where our creativity and inspiration freeze up along with the weather?
Or am I just in the writing doldrums, and the season has nothing to do with it?
Do you write more, less, or about the same in the wintertime?
Does your writing routine change
with the seasons?
In any of the seasons, does the weather ever seem to affect your creativity, your inspiration?

And remember, January is already almost over, February is the shortest month, and then spring will be right around the corner!
And then we can all wake up again and start writing.
