Hey there, listeners,
I
have a fun new podcast about books and writing, and I'd love it if you gave us a try. It's called Yak Babies. (Because my two co-hosts and I do a lot of yakking, and we're basically adult babies.)
Our aim is to publish one bite-sized episode per week, typically no more than half an hour long.
To celebrate our launch, we're offering two new episodes. Just click on the link to listen in your
browser:
1. "Books That Grew Us Up," where we briefly
introduce ourselves and then talk about our formative books (Johnny Tremain for me, duh); and,
2. "P***y, The Coast of Chicago," etc., in which we discuss what we're reading now and I talk about my difficulties in reading story collections.
And watch out for Episode 3, available next week, where we discuss whether a creative writing MFA is worth the often-crippling debt, which I know is something a lot of you are thinking about right now, with another school year drawing to a close.
Fair warning: The show is not always "safe for work." Also, Yak Babies and WriteByNight are not affiliated, and so views expressed on the show -- even by me! -- are not necessarily the views held by WriteByNight.
For lots more info, links, and discussion questions, and to get a glimpse of our awesome mascot, swing on over to this week's blog post, "My New Books Podcast -- Yak Babies."
As always, do email me with thoughts, questions, and suggestions, or just to let me know you listened.
