Hey there, writers,
Sometimes on a loud and crowded subway I'll spot someone who's managed to land a seat and is typing away on a laptop, and I can't help but wonder what kind of alien he/she is.
The focus it takes
to do anything on a crowded subway! Much less write. Even if you're just responding to emails or entering data into a spreadsheet.
It's difficult to escape noise, both literal and figurative, external and
internal, in public and in private.
For writers, is there much of a difference between a loud coffee shop and a loud internal critic who natters away at you even in the comfort of your own home
office?
My question for you is: How do you clear the noise and focus?
In the comments, let us know your strategies for focusing on your writing, both when you first sit down and when, during a writing session, you lose focus and need to regain
it.
I also ask you to rank some Kevin Costner movies. Because that's what I really care about; the rest of this is just a smoke screen.
