Hi there, writers,
Did you hear the news that the Texas Observer Short Story Contest is open for submissions? And that the guest judge is WriteByNight pal Natalia Sylvester?
I heard it! But that's only because, as some of you know, I'm the fiction editor at the Observer, and one of the contest organizers.
The winner gets a check for $1,000 and publication in the magazine's October issue, as well as online. The entry fee is $25. There are no constraints on genre or setting.
Next time you're at the bookstore or library, read the final story, one of its shortest, "Pet Milk." If you like that, read the rest. And then please write to me so we can discuss it!
Are you on Twitter? Because we're on Twitter, at @Write_By_Night. Let's follow each other! If you follow us but we somehow missed you, let me know and I'll fix it.
If you have comments or questions about anything I've mentioned, or just want to tell me what you're working on or reading these days, or have a writing question to ask, or are interested in getting help with your writing via our signature writers' services, simply reply to this email and let's have a chat.
