Hi writers,
Before
packing for the vacation I've been on for ten days, I asked Justine to be my book sheriff: "Don't let me pack more than two books," I begged.
Half of my suitcase usually goes to books, and it's ridiculous. A
five-day vacation? I'll think. Better bring five books, then!
And inevitably I come home having cracked no more than one or two, and pounding myself with guilt as I unpack back at the
ranch.
So this time, I brought two books. And I've read about one-third of one of them, and haven't touched the other. And I feel no guilt about it! It's wonderful.
What I'm hoping you'll tell me about in this week's post, "Packing Books
for Vacation," is, what are your habits when it comes to, well, packing books for vacation?
Do you overdo it or underdo it?
How do you choose which titles come along with you? Do you bring "beach reads" on beach trips and cold, wintery books for skiing getaways? Or do you just grab whatever you're currently interested in, regardless of destination?
Do you feel guilty if you don't read as much as you intended to?
