Hi writers!
See, I've called you a writer. Because I assume the reason you're reading this is that you've already labeled yourself a writer and decided that writing will play a prominent role in your life.
But do you remember when you made that decision? When you had your "aha moment" and realized and/or acknowledged, for the first time, "I am a writer!"
That's what I want to talk about in this week's post, "I Am a Writer!"
Tell me about your aha moment: When and where it happened; how it made you feel; what you think brought it on.
And what happened next? Did you immediately begin working on a book or trying to become a professional writer? Or did you sit with this new identity for a while before taking your first steps?
Or have you not had an aha moment? I'd like to hear about that, too.
If you haven't had an aha moment, don't try to force it. Merriam-Webster defines an aha moment as "a moment of sudden realization, inspiration, insight, recognition, or comprehension." It's difficult to make such a thing happen.
But if you haven't yet identified yourself as a writer, one thing to think about is this: What is possessing you to spend some of your free time reading a weekly email message that is for writers, by writers, about writing?
Is it possible you've already had your aha moment but haven't acknowledged it?
