Hi writers,
Sometimes writing takes a physical toll. We can lose ourselves in the work for days or even weeks at a time, getting so wrapped up that we pay only minimal attention to nutrition, exercise, fresh air... even personal hygiene (guilty!).
Sometimes writing takes an emotional toll. When we write we sometimes (or, for some writers, often, even always!) dig deep into that place (you know: that place), and when we come out of a writing session we're in a blue funk that can last for days.
But from this physical and emotional malaise can come some of our best writing.
So the question isn't how can we avoid this malaise, but rather how can we mitigate its effects? Are there ways we can plan ahead so that our recovery is quicker and easier? Without sacrificing anything in our writing process or approach?
Are you more prone to physical fallout or emotional? Do you feel these effects only after you write, or do they sometimes manifest while you're writing?
