Hello writers & readers,
Here we are on the verge of July, about halfway through 2019. And I know you've been wondering: "David, are you halfway toward achieving your 2019 writing and reading goals?!"
Kind of you to ask. The answer is... sort of.
As for me, I set four literary goals for this year, and here's how they're going:
I have very much not established any kind of writing routine, which was goal No. 1. But I am writing more than I did in 2018.
I will very much not be finishing two books in 2019. But I might finish one. And I'll be very happy with that.
I am going to have a byline, a book review in the July/August issue of the Texas Observer. Cha-ching!
And I have recently read several books that moved me, namely Stewart O'Nan's The Night Country and Stewart O'Nan's A Prayer for the Dying. The latter of which will stay with me for a long, long time.
There are more details on all of that in the post, but what I really want to talk about is, halfway to 2020, are you on pace to achieve your 2019 writing and reading goals?
If so, congrats, and keep it up! Don't be shy about bragging about it in the comments.
If not, what obstacles are you facing? And does WriteByNight offer any services or free resources that might help you overcome them?
