Hi writers,
We at WriteByNight try never to get too self-congratulatory, but it's not every day our little writers' service turns ten years old!
In fact, this coming Wednesday, August 28th, is the only day it will ever happen. So we hope you don't mind if we use this week's post, "WriteByNight Turns 10!", to tell our story.
Follow along as two random people meet at a random party and commence to build a writing workshop-turned-writers' service that takes them from Boston to Florida to Austin to New York... all according to plan!
Just kidding on that last part. If you'd told us, ten years ago, that our little ten-seat workshop in Stuart, Florida, would one day become what WriteByNight is today, we'd have said you're absolutely bonkers.
It's been a ride, which in the post we detail through a timeline of events, both significant and silly, sprinkled with some fun photos.
If you've ever wondered how we met, or why I proposed marriage in a disgusting back alley, or what the JGDDWC is, or why we almost had a Groundhog Day reunion and why you once saw Romanian porn on our website, this week's post is a must-read.
But any celebration of ourselves is really a celebration of you. Without your dedication to producing courageous and inspiring writing, there wouldn't be a need for WriteByNight.
Thank you for sharing your words with us, and trusting us with them, all these years. Like Justine says in the post, "You don't give up! You WriteByNighters are downright inspiring."
Ten years ago, ten of you signed up for a little writing workshop in a little Florida town. Ten years later, thousands of you from all across the globe have allowed us to help you achieve your literary goals.
It's been our sheer pleasure.
