Hey there, writers,
Halloween season is creeping up on us, and... well...
Well, I guess that's really all I have to say. That's part of the reason why this week's blog post will feature your writing instead of mine.
This month, in honor of Halloween, the catchphrase is "scared to death." In fifty words or fewer, including the catchphrase, write the spookiest story you can conjure.
The winner will walk away (from the mailbox) with a delightful little copy of one of four classic horror novels from the WBN library: Dracula, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Phantom of the Opera, or a collection of Dickens ghost stories.
Because we're all so busy decorating stuffing our faces with candy, I'm giving you all an extra week this time. Submissions are open now and run through Sunday the 27th. On All Hallows' Eve, I'll announce the winner in the comments of the post.
The winning story will most likely be the one that makes me want to sleep with the lights on.
Or the one that makes me laugh the hardest, because Halloween or not, I'm always on the lookout for good humor.
If you dare.
