Hi WriteByNighters,
A few weeks ago I told you about how I haven't worked on my novel in (at the time) six weeks. Many of you shared your own struggles with finding time and setting priorities, and I'm glad you did.
It's probably no coincidence that I'm working on my novel again. Sometimes what you need to do is give voice to a problem -- identify it, put it into words, and then talk about it -- before you can really start facing it down.
To that end, I want to invite you to visit this week's blog post and tell me about your current no. 1 writing obstacle, that most prominent hurdle standing between you and your writing goal(s).
Hopefully by merely expressing your obstacle in a public space you'll find the motivation to go over, around, or through it.
With a little help from your friends, perhaps. While you're there, if you have some time, read through some of the struggles of your fellow WriteByNighters, and if you see someone with a problem similar to one you've had in the past, tell him/her what you did to find a solution.
And if you're not currently facing any writing obstacles, then I 100% expect you to put in an appearance in this month's Halloweeny Micro Fiction Challenge, "Scared to Death." Scare me to death, win some adorable little horror novels. What could be more
fun/spooky than that?

P.P.S. Did you miss our discussion about the perils of recommending a beloved book? No, you didn't. Why? Because our discussions never close! Do you recommend your favorite books to friends and family, or is the whole thing just too fraught to be worth it?
