Hello, writers,
Earlier this week, something magical and all too infrequent happened: I laughed out loud while rereading something I wrote. And not in the usual sarcastic, self-hating way.
Such moments are few and far between for most writers -- rarely are we impressed with our own work. Usually we think we're rotten, and that anyone who compliments us on our writing is a bad reader.
That's why it's important to celebrate those rare and wonderful moments that make us sit back and think, "Wow, this is good; maybe I'm a talented writer after all!"
It can be from fiction or non, poetry or play, even text message or email. Anything that made you think, "Man, that's good! Did I really write that?!"
Copy/paste your passage in the comments. No word count restriction, but use reason and judgment; a sentence, a paragraph or two. I don't want anyone to copy/paste an entire novel. Give us the best taste.
Provide some context, if it'll help, or let the words speak for themselves.
And while you’re there, read through a few of your fellow writers’ passages. Do any of them jump out at you? If so, let that writer know! A little encouragement goes a long way.
