Dear writers,
Near the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdowns we ran an open discussion post where we all talked about our hopes and fears, the struggles we were facing in our lives and with our writing, and anything else on our minds.
Eleven weeks have passed since then. Sometimes it feels like eleven minutes; sometimes eleven years.
Today will be Day 12 of the nationwide protests. Every night we see images of nationwide police brutality and looting and arson. We also see, if/when the media chooses to deliver it to us, an overwhelming amount of peaceful demonstration and call for change.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 continues to lurk. The numbers are spiking in nearly twenty U.S. states, and expected to spike even more due to the protests.
There's a lot going on. So let's talk about it.
This week on the blog we're offering an open-discussion post, "Protests & Pandemic." It's available for you to talk about whatever you want to talk about, whatever is weighing on your mind these days.
If you want to talk about the struggles you're facing with your writing, let's do it.
If you've joined any of the protests and want to share your experiences, I'd love to hear about them.
If the pandemic has your attention, I want to know in what ways.
If you want to talk about what kind of cereal you ate this morning or what shows you're watching on TV or how long it's been since you've had a haircut, I'm here for that, too.
