Hi WriteByNighters,
A few months ago, our WriteByNighter pal Steve G. suggested we do a group writing exercise where y'all are tasked with creating a story together.
To provide a frame, I've posted the opening line of a story I wrote and the closing line of the same story. And together you're going to fill in several versions of the middle.
Every time you post, you can either start a new thread building off of my first line or write a follow-up to the last writer's passage in someone else's thread.
Is that confusing enough? I hope so!
I (think I) make the rules a little bit clearer in the post itself, so take a quick read through it before you jump in.
If you guys like this, we'll iron out whatever kinks happen and try it again sometime.
If you don't... oh well. At least we tried something new.
I can't wait to see what y'all come up with! I hope at least one story thread makes it all the way to my ending.
(Either way, I'm sure the results will be more interesting than my own version of the story, which is dead in the water.)
If you want a head start, here's the opening line:
"You could hear Koz all the way across the floor that summer anytime this song came on."
