Hi WriteByNighters,
You don't need me to tell you it's been a weird year, but... it's been a weird year.
I don't know about you, but at various times this year I've struggled to write and I've struggled to read -- sometimes both at once -- and I have little chance of achieving the literary goals I set for myself on December 31.
And that's OK. Worse things have happened. Worse things happen every moment of every day.
All we can really do is try.
Let's talk about your literary goals. Are you on pace to hit them? Have you adjusted them in the face of the obstacles 2020 has presented?
And let's also make sure to take credit where it's due: Surely at some point this year you've written a line or a paragraph so good that you surprised even yourself.
I want to read that passage! And so do your fellow WriteByNighters. So in the comments, share the best passage you've written in 2020.
Writing through personal upheaval is always difficult. Writing through upheaval both personal and universal is also always difficult -- but maybe there's some comfort in the communal.
So let's talk about the challenges we've faced in 2020, let's talk about the challenges to come, and let's find some ways to help each other through them.
