Whip your short fiction into shape

Published: Wed, 10/09/13

Hi there,

If you have a short story that feels a little ... flabby, a piece that could use a rigorous workout, then this email is for you.

WriteByNight and the O. Henry Museum have joined forces to bring you the In Short Fiction Workshop, a monthly bootcamp for writers of short fiction. Participants read and discuss a short story by O. Henry (who else?); enjoy a craft talk about one major element of short fiction writing; and workshop each other's short fiction, of course. All with a mind to whip your short fiction into shape.

This month, we'll be discussing O. Henry's "A Municipal Report" and talking story structure.

Bring us your tired writing, your poor writing, your early draft prose yearning to breathe free. And we'll give you one hell of a workshop.

This month's In Short Fiction Workshop meets Saturday, October 26, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the O. Henry Museum (409 E. 5th Street, Austin). The workshop fee is $49. There are only 2 seats left, so register today!

We hope you'll join us,
Justine

P.S. If you can't make it on October 26, why not join us for the next In Short on November 9? Reply to this email with interest and we'll let you know when registration opens.

P.P.S. If you live outside of Austin or can't make it to the workshop, please do respond to this email with interest. We'll let you know when the craft talks are available for your listening pleasure.
